Fish Passage at Site C
February 29, 2012

On February 14, 2012, Peter Kent (Canada`s federal Minister of the Environment) and Terry Lake ( BC`s Minister of the Environment), announced the signing of a Joint Agreement for the cooperative environmental assessment, including a review by a joint panel, of the Site C Clean Energy Project on the Peace River in northern BC - http://www.newswire.ca/en/story/920739/site-c-clean-energy-project-joint-agreement-issued

The proposed 1100 MW facility involves the construction of a 60 m dam and will produce a reservoir roughly 80 km long. Compass will be working with BC Hydro to examine the science, the engineering, the risks and the trade-offs associated with state-of-the-art fish passage solutions at major dams. The outcome will feed into BC Hydro’s Environmental Impact Statement submission.
