City of Surrey receives an award
October 1, 2012

The City of Surrey received an award at the 2012 Union of BC Municipalities convention for the planning and development of Surrey City Centre. The City has been working to develop City Centre into a high-density community adjacent to the existing Skytrain line. New projects in City Centre include the under-construction Surrey City Hall as well as the City Centre Library, which opened earlier this year.

Once City Hall is completed, these buildings will be served by a shared district energy system. Compass has advised the City of Surrey on developing a district energy system at City Centre, as well as on other district energy opportunities in the area.
