City of Surrey wins Clean Energy award
January 31, 2013

Back in October 2012, the City of Surrey was awarded the Environmental Stewardship and Community Improvement Award by Clean Energy BC. The award recognizes contributions to sustainable development, environmental stewardship and community improvement. Clean Energy BC cited a long list of accomplishments at Surrey, including the steps the City has taken towards implementing district energy. This includes the district energy system to serve the new City Hall (under construction) and Library, as well as significant work towards developing a larger district heating system in Central City. Compass has supported Surrey as they explore this opportunity, with pre-feasibility work and assessment of incentive opportunities.
