Compass Resource Management in collaboration with Decision Research held our inaugural “Introduction to Structured Decision Making” 3-day Training Seminar on April 16-18, 2013 at the Simon Fraser University Segal Graduate building in Vancouver, BC. Facilitators Lee Failing, Robin Gregory, Michael Harstone, Graham Long and Dan Ohlson took turns leading a group of 30 professionals through various elements of Structured Decision Making (SDM). Attendees came from Australia, Florida, Washington, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Alberta and British Columbia. Based on some of the feedback received, participants told us that the training was “fantastic” with an “amazing group of minds,” and that “the amount of knowledge and experience brought to the course exceeded expectations.”
We have had a lot of interest in further training opportunities. As a result, we are compiling a list of people who may be interested in a future session here in Vancouver. We are also open to the possibility of taking our training package on the road, so that we can bring SDM to organizations at their own venues. Please contact Pam Greenstock if you are interested in future SDM Training seminars.
Finally, thank you to the 30 people that participated in our SDM Training Seminar – you all helped to make it a very successful event!
