Compass Associate Christian Beaudrie's research was recently the subject of a Chemical & Engineering news article.

Christian's policy analysis article "From Cradle-to-Grave at the Nanoscale: Gaps in U.S. Regulatory Oversight along the Nanomaterial Life Cycle" reviews U.S. federal environmental, health, and safety regulations to evaluate their adequacy as applied to engineered nanomaterials. His research identifies a number of gaps through which these materials may escape regulation across their life cycle, from initial production to end-of-life. The article calls for regulatory reforms, increased research and development for monitoring, analysis, and control of nanomaterials, and development of a 'bottom-up' stewardship approach to the management of risks, to close these gaps.
